LONDON MAVERICKS:
CHOICE KIT
CHOICE KIT

THE LONDON MAVERICKS launched a ground-breaking choice kit range in netball, giving players across all age range squads a variety of kit options to ensure they are comfortable and confident on court.
Including shorts in various lengths, skorts, leggings, longer vests and the traditional dress.
They are leading the way for clubs and team across the world to offer more choice to their team.
Why? 64% of girls leave sport at 16, and one-third due to kit. And choice is the number 1 policy change schools can make to increase comfort for girls in school.

The Netball Super League (NSL) team are the first ever professional netball club to give all their players, across their pathway and professional team, a range of choice in kit.
Inclusive Sportswear supported the London Mavericks from the initial idea through to the execution. We are very proud of this CHAMPION project.
The London Mavericks pledged to the Inclusive Sportswear Charter, and reimagined netball kit based on choice and comfort.

“This is a great initiative and one I personally really welcome. For me, I always train in leggings and that’s what I feel most comfortable in, rather than the traditional dress.
"To be able to wear this on the court in a match is something that I know will help me feel my best, which can only have a positive impact on performance. We want our sport to be accessible to as many players as possible and giving women and girls the choice to wear the uniform type that is best for them is a great way to keep them playing the game we love.”
THE REACTION

The power of normalising kit choice.
Choice is the number 1 policy change schools can make to increase comfort for girls in school.
78% of girls said they would enjoy PE more if their PE kit was more comfortable.
The London Mavericks are providing a blueprint for other clubs and schools to follow. You can be a netball player and wear leggings.
